Claire studied Creative Writing at Roehampton University and gained an MA in Musical Theatre from Goldsmiths College. At Goldsmiths, Claire worked with several different composers, among them Ryan Scates and Michael Lovelock. Although she worked alongside Tom during the production of their dissertations, the pair did not start working together until after they graduated in 2012.
Claire and Michael are currently continuing work on 'Tall Thin and Blonde' and 'Dave' which they hope to complete in the next year. Lovelock & Rivers' work has been featured at the Tristan Bates Theatre, Jermyn Street Theatre and the Landor Theatre. Claire has written book and lyrics for 'Cycles;' 'Tall Thin and Blonde;' and 'Dave the Less-than-Average Fairy' with Michael Lovelock composing.
In 2013, Claire wrote and produced a double bill of shows for the Guildford Fringe Festival: a play - 'Afterlife'; and a musical - 'Letters to Myself' with Ryan Scates. The pair wrote 'Letters' while they were still at Goldsmiths and the project was re-written and completed for the Guildford Fringe.
As an editor and lyricist, Claire worked on musical workshop 'That Man' featuring the music of Caro Emerald and original music by Gary Albert Hughes. This summer she wrote an original revue show 'A Fairy's Tale' which was performed by the staff of Wahanowin Camp in Canada, directed by Tom.
Claire's current projects are numerous, but perhaps most notably are a series of recent and ongoing comedy cabarets, exploring the reasons behind singing in the shower. These are one-man shows starring Sam Haughton, who has featured in Claire's other work.
Claire spends a huge amount of time at the theatre as she likes to support her friends and colleagues endeavours as well as keep abreast of new and exciting developments in theatre. She also works full time at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
